Why me?!
There was a time, when I did ask Him, Why me? Why me. Everytime. And I do know atleast a gazillion people that ask Him the same question everyday.
How many of us step up and take control of any situation during the downside of our lives without passing the buck to Him?
When you are grateful to God, not holding Him responsible for what happens in your life, not raising the same question Why me?...

BLACK
Since I was a kid, I have always been scared of darkness. I could never sleep without holding my mum’s hand when the power went off , could never walk into a dark room in the house, could never sleep alone without any lights ON. I had a lot of other fears that I overcame as I grew up, but the one fear I couldnt let go off - The fear of a dark world.
I wonder how people who are blind manage...

Encountered by Saffron (a)Genda
Just off from a 100 odd minute documentary on the ‘Gujarat Fake Encounter Controversy’. For those of you, who are not familiar with the incident - The Gujarat Police killed a couple of innocent Muslims over a period of 3-4 years starting in 2002 on a false allegation of planning to assasinate Modi and claimed that they belonged to the LeT terrorist group.

Slumdog killer & singer
At the age of 7, a child is usually exposed to mundane worries of ‘homework & exams’ etc.. But Emmanuel was one of the Sudanese kids who was exposed to the civil war and had to see his father go away to fight with the Sudan Liberation People’s Army, see his village burn, see his friends and family including his mother die.
In the disguise of a school, the SLPA taught a bunch of kids how to...
What is my name again?!
Not one person gets it right the first time. Here’s a list of names that I usually respond to here in Algeria.
Shrakvya , Shefya, Sheeva, Shlavya, Shlavi, Shriva, Shackvya, Sultana….and an endless list that start with the same syllable S….the worst I heard today was…. Russia/Rasha!!
RUSSIA? SULTANA?!
Please gimme a break!
Blue Sweater & Blue Cover-alls
Very intrigued by the name of the book.
The book is about the journey of a middle-class young woman who dreamt of changing the world. All she knew was she wanted to lead a non-profit life but dint know where to start.
I haven’t got my hands on the book yet, but from what I can make out of the title, I think she put on her blue sweater and that is where change began for her.
Feel related...
C -- my energy level!
I had a review with my Manager at 11:00 P.M in the night. The review sheet looked like a report sheet of a ‘pre-school’ nursery kid from what I remember from my Mum’s School Report.
I was evaluated on qualities like ’ Dependability, Enthusiasm, Teamwork….. ENERGY LEVEL…’ My manager was in a fix when he had to fill the Energy Level! I used to be quite an energetic person back in College and it...
It was one of those lonely days on the rig, in the middle of the desert where I found a computer with an internet connection! And the only person that was online was also in the middle of another part of the desert. And we talk about the ways we try to spend those silent times only to see if we can exchange some ideas, some new thoughts and make our days in the desert a little less ...

Is this called growing old?!
My 7yr old cousin walks up to me and tells me all about Diwali, all excited about the vacation, the fireworks, the noise, the sweets and what not! He drags me outta my house onto the road and wanted me to be a part of the ‘bursting - crackers’ session and was very adamant cause this is my first diwali with him as I was away from home for close to 7 yrs now!
On the way, I tell him...
Yeh hai mumbai meri jaan!
As a kid, I was always awed about Bombay cause of its magnificence! The usual stuff people always went gaga over - be it the Gateway of India, the skyscrapers, the Essel World, the opulence & the opulent and the Bollywood of course!
Little did I know that all that was a delusion till I actually got a first hand experience of the ‘magnificence’ . The grandeur of Mumbai lies in...

The last calm before the storm!
“….. While the Earth’s human population has been heedless about containing global warming, nature has given the planet a break. Nations and leaders may get a rare chance to sink differences and fix climate change with the latest research showing that natural phenomena could keep the Earth’s temperatures in check for the next ten years….” -The Times of India The...

‘Destiny’ , ‘Fate’ and ‘Miracles’ are not just Fictional Theories and Theoretical Fictions!
So do we all believe in the existance of a supernatural power after this ?
You neednt be a scientist. But do listen when the scientists say that,”if we fail to mitigate climate change, the environmental, social and economic consequences will be stark and severe”, like how Terry Leahy, the CEO of Tesco did .

The one and only point I was trying to drive home in my previous blog was that ‘Our planet is in danger because of us! Yes, the same planet wher ” Evolution”, was not just a fairy tale. The same planet where after millions of years ” people” who could “think” evolved.’ I agree that evolution is involuntary and it has got nothing to do with people...
(Lemme clarify this before any of you try to point your fingers at me!) Yes. I did talk about living for the moment. But i have also mentioned about where to apply and where not to apply this “thinking ahead” strategy. To quote me, “The environment around us makes extrapolate the ” thinking-ahead” strategy to all faces of liFe! “ Yes let us extrapolate and “think-...
Here is an interesting bit of the story called Evolution! Eons and Eons back( 130,000 yrs ago!) lived people called ” Homo neanderthalis”( i know! its a mouthful!), who had a brain slightly larger than our own. They were the first humans that left behind some evidence of caring for fellow ones. They led a happy life till 50,000 yrs ago. Then came into picture people called “Cro...
We*struggle so hard to hold on to things that we know are going to disappear eventually. Why cant we* jus let things be! Why dont we live for the moment? Why does everything need to follow with a “what-next”. What cant it jus be for NOW! (We* = WE - Shravya , where ‘-’ stands for substraction!) Is that how the human societies evolved?Had they lived for the moment, we...
