It was one of those lonely days on the rig, in the middle of the desert where I found a computer with an internet connection! And the only person that was online was also in the middle of another part of the desert. And we talk about the ways we try to spend those silent times only to see if we can exchange some ideas, some new thoughts and make our days in the desert a little less lonesome. It was in one of those moments, that this mexican friend of mine recommended a book called ’ The boy in the Striped Pyjamas’ . She said its one of the most amazing books she has ever read. I thought the plot would be about a boy in his night pyjamas being lost in his imaginary world in the night everyday before he goes to sleep! Before even my thought would even fade away, Lourdes said - Its about World War II. I wasnt much of a history fan when I was in school , cause it was a burden to remember all those dates and names! But I wish I could go back in time and listen to all those classes. Or probably my teacher should have made the class a lil interesting.
Days passed and I completely forgot about the book, went home for my vacation and then when I came back to Algeria, I open my mailbox and see a note from Lourdes- Left the book for you. Do read it.
