C — my energy level!
I had a review with my Manager at 11:00 P.M in the night. The review sheet looked like a report sheet of a ‘pre-school’ nursery kid from what I remember from my Mum’s School Report.
I was evaluated on qualities like ’ Dependability, Enthusiasm, Teamwork….. ENERGY LEVEL…’ My manager was in a fix when he had to fill the Energy Level! I used to be quite an energetic person back in College and it was quite obvious to me that I deserved an A. But deep down, I knew I was not the same anymore. Algeria and circumstances have sobered me quite a bit and I am a lot more on the silent side now.
Nevertheless, when my manager says “Shackvya- Do ten push ups and I’ll give you an A!”, I made some room in his office and sat down on the floor to do ..rather to try to do push ups. I start counting ONE..TWO..puff..THREE …before I could count the next number, I hear people laughing…If only I realised that I was just lifting my butt!! DAMN!
